At Cord, our goal is to work with our clients to realise their project requirements in terms of quality, budget and time restraints.  We have a long term commitment to satisfy our clients’ requirements in a dynamic and challenging industry. 

Our objective is to deliver results that meet or exceed our customer requirements and expectations, primarily through our dedication to implementing and maintaining our Quality Management System based on ISO 9001.

The successful operation of our system relies upon the co-operation and involvement of personnel at all levels.  Our dedication to quality will ensure the continued success of our Company and the satisfaction of clients and staff.

We have recognised the importance of equipping our employees with the appropriate training necessary to competently perform their work and to ensure each team member fully understands their responsibilities in meeting customer requirements.

Environmental

Cord Civil Pty Ltd has a commitment to protecting the environment and has in place an Environmental Protection Agreement with Environment ACT.

We carefully plan each of our project’s activities so as to minimise the impact on the environment and carefully convey the subsequent controls to our personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.

We pay special attention to client and authority requirements and ensure appropriate measures are implemented and monitored to safeguard against our construction activities.

Occupational Health & Safety

At Cord we are committed to safety, a philosophy that has been recognised with the company winning ACT WorkCover’s 2005 “Excellence Award”. We continually work on our strong systematic approach to safety and rehabilitation and apply this to all of our operations and works performed.
 
Our total workforce, including subcontractors, is fully aware of their responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and our expectations of them in performing their work. Our Occupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation Plan ensures that a safe working environment is provided for our workforce at all times.

All of Cord’s plant and vehicles comply with the ACT WorkCover’s Code of Practice ”Moving Plant on Construction Sites” and are subject to a strict maintenance servicing schedule and risk assessment.

Consultation with personnel, inductions, adequate training, inspections together with audits and careful monitoring are integral to ensuring our works are done in a safe and efficient manner.

Industrial relations

Cord Civil is committed to promoting effective workplace and industrial relations practices including compliance with all applicable employment, industrial relations legislation and related regulation.

To ensure this occurs, we facilitate effective communication for our workforce and the stakeholders in this process.  We actively seek feedback to improve our workplace practices and value worker input.

Our Industrial Relations Plan has been prepared to ensure our obligations in respect to complying with both statutory and contractual requirements for workplace and industrial relations practices are fully understood and met. 

The plan applies to our direct workforce and that of our subcontractors for which the measures, respective responsibilities and authorities are defined and conveyed.

We closely monitor our adherence to these measures and meeting our aims above.  Ongoing participation and contribution by all personnel leads us to improvement and a stronger, more effective workplace and industrial relations practice.
